Fugelhorn dated 1723? Maker A.Turtle.

I have had this FugelHorn for about 35 years.  In cleaning out my garage last week I came across it.

It has a date of 1723 stamped on it with a makers name of A. Turtle Manchester. I am trying to establish some facts about the horn including a valuation.

Any assistance in finding out about or the steering me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect the number on the instrument is a serial, not a date.  Agnes Turtle took over the dealership from William Turtle in 1903, so I expect that the instrument is no older than that. The Turtles were dealers not manufacturers.  I have no idea who may have actually made the horn.

Thanks Kenton. I have uploaded a photo showing the "number" I have some history on Agnes Turtle so your comments are helpful.

Thank you Peter.

A. Turtle did advertise as manufacturer as well, according to an ad from 1908:

I suspect his manufacturing consisted of plating and engraving.
