Need help identifying This Trumpet Please.....

I have a trumpet in it's original green lined case. The markings are: Windsor, Elkhart Ind USA, serial # R299 and my dad's initials. I'm looking for assistance to determine approximate manufacturing date and value please. I have photos if desired.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Of course, you already checked the "Makers" page and found out that Windsor was since 1937 a tradename for Buescher/Elkhart Band Instruments Company...

The "R" prefix seems to be the earlier type of serial, when the Windsor-line was produced by the Elkhart BIC, and since it is quite low I guess the trumpet is from the late '30s.
As for value, I always say "whatever anyone is willing to pay you for it". There is currently one Windsor trumpet on eBay with an asking price of $299,99 but it has a much higher serial number.

Thank you MarChant for your response. I really do appreciate you taking your time to respond. Look for this to show up on eBay soon for $225. Someone else will get joy out of it.
