I can't say with any certainty where the serial may be, but it if it is not on the bell, the next most likely place to look would be where the slide section and the bell section come together.

Thanks for that info. I've found some numbers that are VERY hard to read! I THINK the serial no starts with 1504.....
Does this mean it would be from the late 1930's?

My 1952 B&H trombone has a serial number of 181181 it says made in England and has a LP stamp on it.

-1952 B&H Trombone (Hastings)
-1988 Besson/B&H Sovereign 967 (Bramwell)
-2015 Sterling Virtuoso Baritone (Margaret)
