Hello,

I am new here. The other day I bought a second trombone cheap on a small ad site here in Romania. I wonder if someone have any information about the maker. It was sold by Migma in the former DDR. I think the name reads Fürscht. The mouthpiece is Schmidt in brass.

The trombone will get a bath and grease and oil plus some polishing. It looks and feels very good and came with the original hard case. It looks like from the 50´s or 60´s, but I am not sure.

Also, it looks quite dark and dull and have some stains. Should I polish it with brass polish or leave it as it is?

I have images of it on my computer, but do not understand how to attach them...

Thx for the advice on polishing. No, the trombone has no lacquer left at all. I will go very easy on polishing and see what happens. I used to build and restore motorcycles and parts, will follow old protocols.

Furscht Migma Trombone

I am unsure whether the maker was Furscht or Migma, and therefore I&rqquo;m not sure where to classify it.

Mikeinbuc says:  "Furscht was a manufacturer who had to sell through Migma during the communist era. I have seen a few horns etc by the brand Furscht from before communism. Some were quite expensive on auctions. But I find no other information. My hope is that someone knows who and where they were and what happened to them."
