Hi all,
I am new to the world of Brass but have been a Sax player for 30 or so years. I recently bougth a Clarinet and a couple of weeks ago an old Trombone.
I m interseted in vintage instruments and have been teaching myself to restore vintage Saxes (mostly from the internet and the Sax on the web forum which I have found to be incredibly useful).

So yesterday I registered here to find out more about my old horn which I will post in the "I have this horn" thread.

Welcome, we hope we can be a resource to you.  And, if you get into working on repairs in brass, we may be able to assist there as well.

Thanks Kenton,
Already started - my buddy came along to Our last rehearsal to chek out the Uraidla Concert Band and was handed an Eb Tuba which needed the lead pipe reattaching which I did last Sunday - it also has some huge dets that I am hoping my magnetic dent removal tool will shift - Im not all that confident as the brass is really thick. I may have to remove the section and ferule to get to the dents the old fashioned way!

Yeah, the magnetic dent removal tools always seems like a good idea, but all too often it just doesn't get the job completely done.
