I am a new member to your site and need help in identifying an instrument that was brought back from Europe in WW II.
The ID plate says Franz Michl / Musikinstrumentenfabrik/Graslitz/1.B./ gegr./1881
It is of large size, has four valves and has an upright curved bell. Tuba maybe?
I am unable to find any serial number on it.  I do not see a way to post a photo of it here.  I would appreciate any info. please.

Well a couple of things to try.

You can look through here:  http://www.horn-u-copia.net/display.php?sortby=&starton=0&selby=+where+maker%3D%... to see if you see something similar.

Or you can send pictures to me at:  Kenton@horn-u-copia.net, and I can make a composite for you. I'm traveling the next couple of days, but I can do it after that.
