Cleveland Musical Instrument Company trumpets
The small shop was located on Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio (Euclid Ave. parallels and eventually intersects Superior Ave., which is where the HN White factory was located).

When the company began in 1919, the original Cleveland instruments had no more than 4 digits in their serial numbers, and have very little in common with the later Cleveland trumpets made by HN White. A Cleveland trumpet with a C before the serial number was made by HN White, even though it does not say so on the bell engraving until after 1925 which is when HN White bought them out entirely.

The primary difference is the HN White valves. The original Cleveland trumpet does not have these valves. The original Cleveland trumpets are large bore (.468) instead of the .445 versions made by HN White.

According to Robb Stewart, The last of the Heald instruments use a valve section that appears identical to the Cleveland design.  The braces, the detail at the base of the balusters and the three-point valve guides identify the King valves.  The large tab of the guide has a tiny pin through it.
