  • 1823 musical instrument maker, Bedford & Burton St.
  • 1824-25 now at 64 & 80 Crosby St. (not found in NYC)
  • 1826-28 now at 79 Bedford St
  • 1829-36 now at 398 Pearl St.
  • 1831 ad includes Kent bugles, common bugles, trombones and trumpets; 398 Pearl St. factory and store
  • 1832 wins award for keyed bugle
  • 1835 wins silver medal for trumpets and post horns
  • 1837 May 3rd still at 398 Pearl St.
  • 1837-54 now at 404 Pearl St.
  • 1845 listed as importer of musical instruments
  • 1846 enters Keyed Bugle in NY exhibition
  • 1849 Patent #6968 for WWI key layout
  • 1852 also at 605 Broadway
  • 1855-58 now at 391 Pearl St.
  • 1864-70 now at 221 Pearl St., possibly home only
  • 1884 Charles dies on October 29th, age 85, Brooklyn
