Senecaut

1881-

Senecaut Logo Pierre Senecaut was a manufacturer of wind instruments. In an advertisement from 1895 the House Senecaut claimed that it has already been in several exhibitions, for woodwind instruments and saxophones, and won ten gold medals and money but Senecaut is listed under neither the Belgian nor among French manufacturers at exhibitions before this date, this is explained by stating that Senecaut was the successor of an earlier house. This is very unlikely because exactly known is that his house was founded in 1881. Pierre Senecauts factory is located on Green Street 26 in Brussels. In 1896 he moved to Saint-Francois Street 9 in Brussels and end 1908 at No. 24 in the same street and is listed there until 1940. His specialty focuses on the saxophone, but the house also makes other brass instruments. The House of Pierre Senecaut continues at an unknown date by (2) A.-P.-E. or (3) Louis Senecaut (2) A.-E.-E. Senecaut Bruxelles 1910-1930. Son of (1) Pierre manufacturer of wind instruments. He learned the trade in the factory of his father and trained as a musician at the Brussels Conservatory, graduating in 1903. Being an employee of his father he received a Silver medal at the 1910 World Exhibition in Brussels. (3) Louis Hubert Senecaut Brussels 1910. Probably son of (1) Pierre. Employee manufacturer of wind instruments in cooperation with the house Senecaut in Brussels. As such, he received a bronze medal at the 1910 exhibition.1
