Schenkelaars

Eindhoven

Netherlands

-

Founded in 1928 by Harry Schenkelaars (11/8/1896- 2/27/1979) Schenkelaars Logo Schenklaars made Concords in Holland in the 50s through 70s

In 1988 Schenkelaars quit. The company moved from Eindhoven to Best to continue as a smaller company. The name was changed to Schenkelaars Brekoo. Brekoo was Schenkelaar’s son in law. They went bankrupt.

Worker from the Schenkelaar’s shop tried to make a new start under the name Blasom. But they weren’t successful. A musical instrument store, named Music All In, bought the tooling and with two personel from Schenkelaars started making brass under the name "First Brass". However, First Brass has ceased production. Most of the inventory of the Schenkelaars factory is in possession of Adams in Thorn-Netherlands. Although they make some brass instruments nowadays, they don't use the Schenkelaars machinery. They also own the inventory of the Belgian Mahillon factory.

Music All In is still in business as a dealer selling Asian made instruments under the name MAIN.
