• 1896 incorporated as the J G Richards Company
• 1906 John Richards no longer listed; must have died after 1894; R. O. Beswick is president & Thomas Newton is manager; music pub., instruments & supplies, #302-305 Arcade
• 1921 at #302 The Arcade
• 1927 #301-305 The Arcade; band & orchestra instruments
• 1929 #302 The Arcade
• 1931 last year the company is listed; #302 The Arcade

Brass instruments labeled ‘ Richards & Co.’ would date to before the name change in 1896. ‘ Peerless’ model is found on some lower brass. Agents for ‘ LeVerne & Co, Paris’ and ‘ L. Lamar & Co, Paris’ . All instruments found say ‘ J G Richards Co’ so date to 1896 or later.
