The Maheu family flourished between 1874-1929.The Maheu’s had 2 branches, one in Gand with Charles Maheu and one in Tournai with Léon Maheu.
* The Ch. Maheu House was fonded in 1874 in Gand (rue Neuve-St-Jacques 26) and supplied armies and conservatories. After 1096, his son Charles Adolphe Maheu took the factory ownership to become ’Maheu & son’.
*The Léon Maheu House was founded in 1890 in Tournai. L. Maheu was patented and a Supplier to the army, conservatories and missions of the Congo. At the begining of 20th century, L. Maheu House moved to Virton where it became ’MAHEU Léon & Fils’ and then ’MAHEU Léon Fils’.
