Established his workshop in 1824. In 1831, The company was known as Graves and Alexander.
The first Graves workshop was in West Fairlee, Vermont.
1833 changed the name to Graves & Co. 1837, started making brass instruments.
1837 the factory moved to Winchester, New Hampshire.
1850, company moved to 18 Harvard Pl, Boston.
1864, company named Gilmore, Graves & Co.
1869, merged with others to become Boston Musical Instrument Manufactory
Graves was the leading maker of keyed bugles in the US between 1837-1850.
Graves made trombacellos with Vienna valves.
