• 1855 Gerhard Charles Aschbach born on January 15th in Allentown to German immigrant parents
• 1876 founded music store at 810 Hamilton St., Allentown
• 187? Shortly after moved to the basement of the Second National Bank at 532 Hamilton St.
• 188? Moved across the street to the Osmun & School building (probably #533) for several years before moving back to the now empty bank building at #532 and occupying the entire building
• 188? Ad from #533 location says they sold "brass band instruments made by the best manufacturers in Europe"
• 1891 purchased property at #539 Hamilton and opened their new four-story store on October 15th
• 1905 Gerhard&rwquo;s two sons Gerhard, Jr. & Adolph are also working at the store
• 1913 Gerhard, Sr. dies on August 15th
• 1914 Gerhard, Jr. is the manager following the deaths of both his father and brother in 1913; located at #539 Hamilton
• 1933 Gerhard, Jr. dies; no further records found.
