This is probably Maynard Otis Valentine who was born in Shelbyville in 1895 and became a school teacher. By 1920 he had moved to Kenosha, WI . By 1935 he was in Brush, CO, by 1940 a high school teacher and musician in Caratlane, WA, and by 1942 in Portland, OR.
