Horn-u-Copia's Display of Makers

Leipzig brass traditions brought to Berlin in the early 1800’s. Julius Lemcke firm founded in 1847. Taken over by Ernst Leberecht Paulus in 1866. Followed by Arthur Sprinz firm 1878 - 1938. The Sprinz family of Berlin consisted of Franz, Arthur and Fritz (1872). In 1921 Arthur Sprinz built one of the new style Contrabass trombones based on a patent by Ernst Dehmel.
