The Schusters history is very confusing and contains many individuals.







Carl August Schuster 1830-?, Carl Gottlob Schuster 1788-1862, Carl Gottlob Jr. 1825-1913, Fredrich Wilhelm Schuster 1789-1873, Heinrich Waldemar 1829-1915 (son of Carl Gottlob), Heinrich Morritz in business 1871 - ?, Hermann, Julius 1862-1926, L.P. Schuster in business 1890-1930, Louis Schuster 1826-1892, Ludwig Schuster 1827-1891, M. Schuster in business 1862-?, Michael Jr Schuster 1817-1891, Wilhelm Ludwig Schuster (son of Carl Gottlob) 1827-1891. Then there is Schuster & Sohne established by Carl Gottlob in business 1851-1881, which then turned into Schuster & Co. by Arnold Schuster (son of Wilhelm) in business 1881-1943. Schuster & Co, used the tradename Krone. And that is not counting other Schusters who were dealers (Gebruder est. by brothers Waldemar and Eugen with Martin and Alvert), and Schusters in other communities (Hans, Joseph, ), and others making strings and woodwinds(Robert, and another Robert).

Established in 1862 by four makers, Paulus, Schuster, Eschenbach, Bauer) with government assistance. Eschenbach and Bauer soon quit. Ernest Paulus & Ludwig Schuster, Markneukirchen 1862-1881. Became Schuster & Co. in 1881 or 1884.



It appears that the largest output was by the Schuster & Co. with a large steam powered factory with many employees.

1864-1884 Paulus & Schuster and in 1884 as Schuster & Co. They were distributors and dealers as well as manufacturers. From 1879 they used a crown trademark.
