Benjamin O. Marsh (1862-1938) started Marsh’s Music House some time between 1885 and 1895. He was a dealer and at least some of the instruments sold were made in Austria.
Marsh had his music store on the first floor, lived on the second and had practice space on the third.
He was also mayor of Decorah for some time
.
By 1916 he was located at #110 Winnebago Street.
Since he had no children, after his death in 1938, the business may have been sold to another owner as the store was still advertising in 1947.
