Horn-u-Copia's Display of Makers

Established his workshop in 1824. In 1831, The company was known as Graves and Alexander. The first Graves workshop was in West Fairlee, Vermont.

1833 changed the name to Graves & Co. 1837, started making brass instruments.

1837 the factory moved to Winchester, New Hampshire.

1850, company moved to 18 Harvard Pl, Boston.

1864, company named Gilmore, Graves & Co.

1869, merged with others to become Boston Musical Instrument Manufactory

Graves was the leading maker of keyed bugles in the US between 1837-1850.

Graves made trombacellos with Vienna valves.
