I bought the horn shown in the eBay photos you have linked. I used it at Tuba Christmas this past December. It plays very well, easy blowing with a nice full sound, as you might expect from a euphonium with a 14" bell. I brought it to the US Army band tuba euphonium conference in January and Lee Stofer played it and sounded great. I have since spoken to a couple of other people who said that they have seen others and one who owns another one. I suspect that they were made as marching band baritones, but I still believe that a relatively small number were made and certainly a smaller number are still around in playing condition. |
