Hi there,
I have an older trumpet in my workshop, silver plated, "as new" valves which states ist from Convair, Elkhart, Indiana, USA (engraved in its bell). Well, I cant find anything nearer to that name then a databaseentry stating that a company existed! between 1952 and 2000 sth. manufacturing musiv instruments. Has anybody ever heard mor than this? pictures will follow (though not really imppressive Smiley) well, I shouldn't have polished it, anyway, it's not really engraved, plain words stamped in
cheers
Thorsten

well,

obviously a company existed close to Conn and King, build or traded musical instruments but no one ever heard of. What a pity, i will end my own research now because if it would have been a great name in brass there must be traces left...

I did a trademark search through the US Patent Office.

Quote:

I found a few bits about Maurice Lipsky Music and Josef Friedman Music Sales. Looks like both were dealers based in the New York City area. I'd guess that the your Convair trumpet is a stencil built by one of the known companies located in Elkhart. E. K. Blessing would be the most likely suspect.

What was the serial number?  The horn looks like a 1960s Blessing Standard stencil
